04 mach460 radio in a '00 mach460 system ?

I hate the way the radio is setup in my 2000 GT with the mach460 radio. The 2 piece system was poorley designed and poorley setup. It makes it difficult to change for cd to radio and vs versa, etc. I would like to put in a newer style factory radio and would like to know if anybody else has done this. Please dont try to talk me into anything else. I want OEM as much as possible and hate the look of aftermarket crap. I hate tiny buttons and I hate having to read a book to figure out how to turn off my radio. I would like to swap in a MAch460 radio from a 04 if possible. Does anybody know if this will work easiliy ? I understand I will need a new dash panel for the radio.
