07 STEERING WHEEL "PLAY"

my 07 mustang g t has a little steering wheel "play" . is this normal ? i can move the steering wheel about 1/4 " with out moving the wheels while driving on a smooth flat road. let me hear from you i need to know before my warranty expires . thanks

My bet is ford will say it's normal. I have a little bit in my steering, but nothing that I don't consider normal for a street car. OE steering normally has some play to keep the car from being twitchy at speed.

It's normal. As Dan said, it's to avoid being twitchy.

thanks for the replies & you are correct . took it to the dealer, they checked it out , said it is normal & all is good.
