Hi guys,

Sorry if this thread is in the wrong forum area, but I have an original 1965 Mustang Engine (In-line 6 cylinder) that I am trying to sell. I need to know if there is a VIN number or other identifying numbers located on the engine somewhere. If so, where can I find it?

I am also looking into selling original transmission, driveshaft, and radiator. All work, as I traded them out for a 302 V8 about 4 years ago.

if this helps, 1965 should have only had the 170 or the 200.

3 freeze plugs on the side was the 170
if it has 5 then its a 200.

Or check the data plate, I believe U was the 170 and T was the 200. If it is original, the exhaust manifold will have a casting number bright as day next to the alternator in the front.
