I'd just as soon try to create a trigger wheel to try and accomplish that.....stands to reason that a wheel, exactly half the size of the crank trigger wheel should work..where to put it will be the problem.

And that problem is gonna be put on a back burner....for a little while.

I could go down there right now if I wanted to and get in 2-3 hours of work,....( and I may do that) but first there's coffee and sluffin' that needs doin.
( Sittin here thinking what I'd want to try and get done in the next two-three hours....So much sht sitting down there un-done)

I used to do all of the " dirty work" first...and that usually was everything under the car. All of that crap would therefore be out of the way..The clean sht was always last. But I don't wanna lay down under the car this morning, and I don't wanna cut and weld that passenger seat bracket either. There's tools all over the place,...I guess I could go straighten them up.....but I'll just have to drag all that crap back out after that anyways......

Or I could continue to sluff, and drink coffee.

What the hell do you expect from me?

I spent a lot of time putting the car back together today. And while it's far from finished, and there's still a buttload left to do...tomorrow will show big dividends.

Today, junk got upgraded, and braided stuff replaced regular hoses. The oil cooler evidently didn't like over 100 psi, and I found evidence of a leak. Oil was all over the radiator behind the cooler, and the shroud was soaked. The new one will be here on Thursday. The pan is vented to the valve cover,..and I made the hoses to do that. Transmission lines are now braided as well.

Several things are coated this time around, and I'm not gonna wrap anything in lieu of that. I bought a new heat blanket for the turbo because the old one had become brittle. It will be the only heat shielding that I plan to do. I expect that the hot side will be in place tomorrow.

When it starts this time around, I'm hoping that the oil leaks will be gone. The rear radiators are gone, as are the hoses that interconnect them. What I'm gonna do with those ducts is still YTD.

Im adding a second idle air valve to allow a faster idle speed, and I'm gonna try to move the water meth injection nozzle into the tube so that I can orient the thing so that it sprays forward instead of at an angle.

All of that, some new panels, a different scoop, spoilers, tail lights, decals, and wheels are in store for the monster.

The best laid plans of mice and men.....

I was making pretty decent progress this morning. It got about 2, and I needed some stuff from the store.

Then my phone rings......its a BMW customer. (But he'll wait till tomorrow)
I get in the car, get to oreillys, get my stuff and the phone rings again.
Another BMW customer. ( He won't wait)
I tell him that I'll need to go home, and get cleaned up, and I'll see him in 30 mins.
I get two more BMW customer calls in the next hour..i go in.
Progress on the Monster has officially stopped for today.
I'm sitting in the dealership now....the guy that couldn't wait has driven the car home to his wife for her approval, ( she approved) the cars back, the guys gone...

Again.

He will not answer his phone, he will not respond to a text.

Again.

This is the second time this guy has done this to me. The first time was last week, and now again, on my day off where I came in special for him...im giving him 20 minutes....if he doesn't respond or show up in that time frame,

Fck that guy.

I hate that. My clientele is a little different, but I am a stickler for time. If we agree on a time, I will be there. I cannot stand someone that will.make you wait for an extended period of time, or blatantly lie about your time frame. If you are on the other side of town at lunchtime on Friday, you are not 5 minutes away.

Hopefully you will see some money out of your efforts.

Joe

Where I used to work, I had a delivery guy. I would ask him where/when etc. I would always follow up, with is that YOUR WATCH or MY WATCH time? The first time he said, huh, what. I said, last time you told me you would be back in 25 minutes it was over 1.5 hours. I don't care if you stop and get gas or get something to eat or hell even if you're delivering dope. But say, hey I gotta make 4 more stops, so about an hour and a half. I can plan for that.

My 17 year old is HORRIBLE about it. Me. Hey when are you going to get here? Him. About 20 minutes. Me. Cool. Him, 1 hour later, gee thanks for eating without me. Show up when you say you will and you will get hot food!

Looking at the pics, I now realize that the un-dressed welds on the merge, and down pipe are gonna bug the sht out of me.

I spent a great deal of time obsessing over the welds on the headers, and then completely blew off doing the same on those other two pieces.

What the hell was I thinking?

You know what this means don't you?
Either I'm taking it back apart, doing what I shoulda did, and painting the ground down areas in regular Ol high heat paint.( extremely likely)
Or all of the above, and the two pieces are back at the coaters.
Or...im taking them back off, and wrapping it ( unlikely)

I said that knowing you were looking in Dave.

"Dressing a weld" in Mike speak means I make it disappear. As in how the headers look. Dressing a weld sounds like it's done as finish work, perfectly blended....as opposed to grinding down a honkin weld bead so that it won't look like holy hell. The things I'm talking about are the two tubes that look like they were welded in metals shop class.

Based on my observations... :jester:

How to post like CarMichael Angelo in five easy steps:
  1. Criticize statements or methods used by others on the forum.
  2. Wait a while.
  3. Post something ambiguous that is a prima facie contradiction of your earlier statement or otherwise easily disprovable.
  4. Wait until someone calls you out.
  5. Reply with an explanation of how what you really meant was "X" and their interpretation is wrong.

You summed it up.

And that's why I like talkin' with the CMA meister. Each conversation is an epic adventure in learning proper 6 hat DeBono consideration.

Look, here’s my take on the way I interact with everybody here.

#1. I’ve been here for 6 years now. I assume people that pay attention to what I say know when I’m messing with them.
#2.That said, people who don’t, can take me the wrong way regardless of whether I’m talking to them, or another person altogether.
#3. At the same time, and despite points 1,and 2,...I’ll cop to being a prick every now and then. ( Let’s just say that my standards for internet etiquette do not tolerate illiteracy, or people that make unfounded claims as fact because “ It did, or didn’t work for them”) ( it’s one thing to offer opinion, but to say something like “I’ve installed flow master 40’s on my car, and they’re not that loud”)
It Begs to be challenged. ( And who am I to ignore a challenge?)
#4. There are words I don't like....I'll admit it. Chick, chunk, prolly, Awesome, stoked, tranny, and dizzy, are just a few. "Dressing a weld" is a whole bunch of words I hate. It sounds like " "stuffing a turkey". I hate that one too.
#5. When I use a word I hate , you can automatically chalk it up to " I'm expecting you to come out of the wood work, and bite my ass for using it"......it's like Dean says.....I'm doing a roll call...........I'm checking out who's paying attention.

So I owe you.......Thank you for paying attention.
