But...................I don't want to go drag racing.....
Drag racing hasn't been drag racing since they coined the phrase "bracket racing".
And Bracket racing is the farthest thing from a drag race. Anytime the opponent has to either:
A. Wait at the tree to give the other slow ass lane a gigantic head start...
B. Slam on the brakes before the finish line to keep from going TOO FAST..
That ain't drag racing.
Words like " consistency" and " reaction time" enter the conversation when you talk to a bracket racer...which are immediately followed by a yawn, and my silent thought's of " so fckin what?"
When I drag race somebody, I don't care if I had to have an alarm clock at the tree to wake me...all I wanna be able to do is run his ass down and blow by him before the finish line...and I don't have to do it consistently,...one time is all I need.
Alternatively, Head up drag racing has gotten stupid expensive, so that would leave me wondering as to why anybody would spend a dime on any car if they can't afford to do anything except bracket race.
Leave the thing alone...power builds inconsistency. And part breakage.
A 100000 mi. 1987 Crown Vic in drive will be just as consistent ( and mind numbing) as any other bracket car that has all of the delay box, trans brake, 2 step, traction control, throttle stop, and air shifter crap on it that bracket racing has brought to the market.
Organize a grudge night where the guys like you, me, and Craig can bring what we drive to the track and run what we brung...
Then I'll return to drag racing. And part breakage .
One things for sure though........Now you know exactly how I feel.
