I've got a 1979 Fox Body Capri with a 302 5.0 that I just pulled the original 4 speed transmission from. I'd like to upgrade to a Ford Tremic T5. After some research online, it appears that a mid '85 or later T5 called a "World Class" with improved syncros seems the way to go. My question is if this specific Tremic T5 bolts right into the bell housing and if the bolts line up? Is there a preferred transmission that requires little or no modification?
Some original 4 speed specs:
1 1/16" 10 spline shaft in
28 spline shaft out
Overall body is 23 3/4"
Input 7 1/4" from trans body forward
