Hi guys I’m stuck, just bought a 1989 Mustang GT with a 347 stroker motor. It was having issues starting, the starter that was in it would engage the fly wheel but make a horrible metal on metal grinding sound. I just replaced it with a reman OEM Ford starter. Now there is no metal on metal noise but the starter doesn’t engage the flywheel at all, unless the car is rocked back and forth in gear then started it will fire up. Does this mean my flywheel is more than likely missing teeth? Or any other ideas at all?
