2000 GT 17x8 Stock Wheels Widest Tire I can Fit

i have the 2000 mustang gt 17x8 wheel id like to put on some wider tires ... hopefully some drag radials, what is the widest tire i could possibly fit onto these rims?

A 275/40/17 "will" fit, but a 245/45/17 is probably the biggest tire you're supposed to fit on a 17x8.

I've got some 275/40/17 nittos dr's out back on my car and it works well enough, but the sidewall does bulge out ever so slightly.

255/45/17 is the widest, 275's look ghey and not recamended.

I got 255's on mine with the stock rim. Still looks pretty cool. The 275's make your wheel look like a donut.
