I have a 2006 GT that just hit 50k and the front brakes have 80% life left in them, while the rears were replaced two years ago and have 50% left.
Is it common for the rears to wear that much faster?
I know the rears are much smaller but also don't handle as much of the load as the front.
I don't know if the car being a manual has something to do with the great life I'm getting out of the fronts, it seems plausible.
The car stops fine so I'm guessing that the fronts are doing their share.
Just curious if this is normal.
Overall this has sure been a great car. I have never before in my life gone five years without car trouble.

My 06 just hit 110,000 miles. I have only replaced the spark plugs, battery and rear brakes. Rear brakes were at around 80k I think. Just pulled front brakes ready to change them, instead put them right back on. WOW!

No clue why they are lasting so long:shrug:!?!

Rear brakes? I think maybe traction control is eating them.
