Please help my key will not come out of the ignition. But I can get it out by unhooking the battery

Do you hear a click sound when you push the brake pedal down? If not, it could be something called the safety neutral switch (something like that). It could also be your battery going bad. All kinds of strange things can happen when the volts are a little weak from the battery. Just giving you a couple possibilities to check out

Thanks David ... not sure of the brake pedal sound but the battery is brand new. I will listen when pushing down brake pedal after work today
