24# injector and mass air calibration

Ive done this many times, about 6 gt to cobra swaps. If the mass air is stock, it is the same. Both cobra and gt mass air sensors have the exact part number through any auto parts stores. If you use the "GT" computer after the 24lb. injector swap, you engine will run very rich, and run like crap. Not to fire up the thread, but its been trial and error.

I just learn that the MAF has nothing to do with your INJ. You need to somehow tell your computer(EEC) that you have bigger INJ not your MAF. Your MAF tells your computer how much air is coming into the motor, then your motor tells you INJ how much to flow. But the EEC still thinks you have 19s and is going to dump way to much fuel using your 24s. then its going to read to rich at the O2 sensors, causing a condition of your EEC cant correct by itself....This is how i understand it. So you can either fool the EEC by getting a MAF that will reduce the voltage it reads at a giving amount of air. Or you can Tune the EEC to properly read the signal that is given by your stock MAF and It will know to release less fuel

you need a Cobra computer. Mass Air does not effect it.

Actually ... both of these Gentelmen are stating factual info :nice:

If we are talking about doing something WITHOUT a tune

24's won't work CORRECTLY on a t4m0 (GT pcm) without a caled
aftermarket meter that matches the inj size

If you moved to a j4j1 (COBRA pcm) the 24's would work just dandy with
the original or OEM meter that came on the GT from FORD

That will work. If you want to keep it simple, just get a J4J1 cobra computer, and call it a day. Go to car-part.com, they usually go around $100 shipped.
