3" Catback for 2017 Mustang GT

Quick question. I hear all sorts of theories and explanations regarding low end torque loss of 3" exhausts on stock mustangs. Would a 3" exhaust be ideal if I was leaning toward a roush CAI and Lund Tune on e85? Love to hear some feedback. Thanks!

If that’s true, my setup did not get the memo. I have 3” custom setup plus Ford Racing Performance Pack 2. It is now awake compared to stock. Despite upgrading to 305s, I still don’t have traction in 1st or 2nd at low RPMs.

It’s cheaper to go custom build. In CA, I paid $500 after taxes for my 3” system including Magnaflow Street mufflers and 4.5” tips.

No manufacturing overhead costs saves you money. Plus, it will be welded and sealed tightly, so no worries of loose clamps and rattled over time.

Mine is much louder in cabin. I went with an H pipe. But no drone. Very low tone that roars—no rasp. Yet, it is not extreme, so the cops are leaving me alone. I think it is a great balance.
