I went to carquest and told my buddy to get me an alternator from a 00-04 V6 Mustang because it should be the 6G alternator. Upon bringing it to my house and finding out what a 6g looks like, it does not look like the one I have.

Mine looks like View attachment 379803

Except that it has a gray housing for the plug, and not a white one. It has two electrical plugs, one I THINK is for the stator wire, which is supposed to be elimated on the 6g alternators.

The 6G alternator runs cooler/more stable and has less rotating mass (frees up HP) compared to Ford's previous models(3G). And the alternator does not require that the bracket be modified, it bolts directly in.
