I cut my 4 cyl springs 3/4 of a coil before I installed them, and wish that I had not. It lowered the front about 1 1/2 inches. Current ride height is about 25 1/2 in or so. This is a stripped out 82 hatch with a 5.0.

I would recommend installing them w/o cutting, checking it, and then deciding if you want to cut.

Anyone ever buy new (4-cylinder) springs from a place like Autozone -- just wondering how they might stack up to old stockers.

How much does autozone want for them? Interesting.

I've known quite a few people who have done this and it did lower the front, and the spring is softer so it is better for drag.

I think they want under $70 for a set of front springs. Not junkyard cheap -- but not terrible either. I'm just considering all my options.
