4-piston Calipers, really necessary?

i have been looking around for new calipers. my car is not a strip warrior by any means, so i dont really see the need for 4 or 6 piston calipers. sure they'll be an upgrade but is spending $600 for the fronts only really worth it?

$600! I was looking at a wilwood kit in the 2k range.

i'm talking just fronts, calipers only. no rotors, no lines.

I just put on some stainless steel lines and EBC pads and it made a big difference.. only 200 bucks too...
