Hey guys,

I have a 1969 Mustang Coupe, that I am in the process of restoring, and I am looking for a ram air hood that resembles the hood of a 1968 Shelby GT500. I have searched and searched but cannot seem to find anything solid, so I am assuming this will have to be a custom project or I might get lucky and find someone who has already done it...

I have found a few hoods that are for 65-66 and 67-68 mustangs, but nothing for 69. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find this sweet ass hood or does anyone know if hoods are interchangeable with the 65-70 models???

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have attached a few images to show what I am talking about. Thank you.

I don't ever recall that style hood scoop on a '69/70. I would expect it would need to be custom made. A challenge from an appearance stand point would be blending the '68 shelby scoop to the center moulding on the '69 hood.

I went looking for a stock '69 hood to point out what I was talking about and stumbled across what I think you are looking for. It was listed as a custom hood.

I love the '69/70 sportsroof body style, but not sure I like the look of this. Just my opinion.

It would be very hard to make that hood unless you bond the 68 top on a 69 hood ,and that is what that looks like .
I built two fiber glass hoods for 69s not long ago ,the two originals were steel ,i then made molds for both . One is a short version of the 69 shelby style and the other version is a 71 73 style top on the 69 hood . Both made to work with stock fenders and headlight buckets

Build it out of steel. Should be straight forward, but time consuming to get the right look. That's what I did. SVO style scoop on an '87-93 hood, all steel.
