Ok. This has me confused....not hard! I have this annoying squeak. It sounds like it’s from the driver side rear. It picks up speed as the car does. It continues until you hit the brakes. If you let off the brakes, it comes back. Car still has the 4 lug drums in the back. So far I have only been able to isolate it to one side. Can’t determine front or rear but feel it’s the rear. I’ve pulled the rear tire and drum to see if there was something funky there but nothing. Everything looks in order. To be more specific, you can have the car in gear at speed. You will hear the squeak. When you are still in gear and let off the gas, you hear the squeak. When you are in gear and then hit the brake, the squeak goes away. Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I check next?

I agree with ssp ^^ and I will add that these cars are getting old and things need to be replaced, I'm thinking u joints, if you find that they are the source of the squeak, I would has the drive shaft balanced also
