What is the spec/reset for the timing and idle? I have quite a bit of upgrades and higher than stock compression so I doubt stock settings will work out. What would be a good start to set the timing and/or idle at?

The procedure will still be about the same. I'd set timing at 10-12* for right now. You're just trying to get it running decently.
This might help with trying to set the idle (there are a couple of methods, all a little different).

Be sure to put an index mark on the set screw so you can keep track of all of your adjustments.
