I would have to agree, I just listed that as well as the tune, b/c that's what Ford claimed is the reason for the extra 10Hp in my 98' sales brochure that I saved.LI98GTStang said:98's do have 2.5" exhaust tips where as 96/97s have 2.25" tips. No extra power there though. Tune is where the hp comes from.
I would NEVER use a 3rd party book as a reference for any car. I've found too much misinformation in those books.98stangv8 said:the power came from: "revised and cleaned up exhaust ports"
Just goes to show you that you shouldn't believe everything you read.98stangv8 said:the power came from: "revised and cleaned up exhaust ports"

all cobra run 10.8 don't they.
i hope to get mine up to 385 hp. N/A. so i can run 10.8.
Yeah, but that doesn't have any affect on flywheel horsepower.GDawg said:Plus (and correct me if I'm wrong) but didn't the '96 come with 2.73 gears (manual) or 3.08 (auto) with no upgrade available whereas the '98 had the option to upgrade to 3.27 gears (which is what mine came with). Then in '99 3.27 became standard.
