I am in the process of having a company called Performance Automotive and transmitions who apparently are big GM guys but now becoming big Ford guys.

I am getting ther "bulletproof" 700HP AODE and Torque converter solution installed for $2500 core charge of my AODE is $150 if I don't let them keep it.

Anyway after my experience with a Performance Automatic AODE and having it rebuilt twice in under 1000 miles I am going elsewhere. This one had a TCI upgraded streetfighter 3-3400 stall. I have been told since maybe too much stall for street driving even though should have lasted more than 500 and then 300 miles.

Anyway comments/suggestions are highly welcome.

hey sounds like its gonna be a sweet car....anyways I dont know what your looking for but if u want to meet some auto guys go here http://www.clickclickracing.com also if you are looking for Auto Companies that specialize with Ford's and not GMs check out Performance Automatic at http://performanceautomatic.com/ or Lentech Automatic at http://www.lentechautomatics.com/. Lentech was basically the innovator of the Ford AOD; that is where I will be taking my business when I buy a Valvebody from them soon. Hope some of this helps.

Thanks for the compliment and info

I will checkout Clickclickracing
I will also look up that guy silverfox

My experience with performanceautomatic has been less than desirable
here's the story: I am waiting to see what they are going to do about it customer service wise, they can redeem me from a company's view if they replace the trans which I will then sell but at least I'll only be out $1500-2000 otherwise I am out heartache time and over $3k.

I have a 94 Mustang Gt Conv with AODE trans. I decided to stay with auto when completely redoing car check my garage. I have a performance automatic transmition direct from them installed with TCI 3000 stall Converter. I would think ok since trans is rated 450-500HP. Well I had first trans in maybe 1500 miles moderate driving with at time 215 RWHP and TCI Saturday Night special 2000 stall blew to pieces they said bearing broke whatever. So PA says not our fault since it was Torque converter but transmition was shifting weird horrible inconsistent going neutral sometimes before that. So I pay them $595 to "freshen up Trans'" clutches etc. Car is on road with new Builet TCI $1087 Torque converter 3000 stall and now have maybe 375RWHP with Aluminum Heads and Supercharger. I drive the car 300 miles before track made 3 passes on street tires and drive it another 200 miles and trans is gone. This time I order PA Beefed up Clutches and High Horsepower rebuild kit $795 have Ford Dealership Mustang specialist build it and replace all broken parts and gears and this time no track and 300 miles trans is gone again using street tires and 4 days of driving with maybe 6 nice burn outs and punched motor 15-20 times and gone. I am so pissed I could kill somebody. I have not heard anyone mention using Performance Automatic Transmitions in here and I am wondering if I missed something. Brothers Racing and numerous Magazines and of course Summit Racing said "real good reliable transmitions". Either I am the recipient of an unusual lemon or I need to look at buying another trans from someone else I cannot ever go through this again or I may kill someone. I have 30K plus invested in this mustang and I have really enjoyed it all of 5 days in over 1 year. Please someone give me some good advice or tell me what to have done to this trans and make it reliable upto 500 HP.
I am sending it back to PA hopefully Friday and hopefully they will not pull the we didn't build it last time even though they boast lifetime warranty, and they will rebuild it and send it back right but if they try to charge me 5-700 to fix it for the 3rd time I am through with them.

Art Carr also has good AOD's. I have one of there set-ups and it has been pretty good. Had behind my blown 331 and also put it behind a buddy's blown 347, while my new project is under the knife. In both cars, it went low 11's and 60 time in the 1.5 & 1.6's without any problems.

Thanks for info

I now have car in Bossier city at a place called Performance automotive and Transmitions that said they have a Bullet proof 700 HP trans Torque converter combo they dyno test after being built that they offer ifetime limited warranty. Since they are close and no shipping I am going to give them a shot I will let you know tha results.

Thanks for info I would have probably gone lentech if I would have come here before PA 1 year ago.

Also Art Carr sounds like you have had good success with them. By the way that 86 looks incredible! I love your work had no idea an older mustang could look that good.

You guys know of any meets where members go at big ralleys or anything, one thing I love about my Mustang is the comradery among Mustang owners.

Thanks again
