My dads 91 stang has been running rough for a while. The check engine light was on and the problem just kept getting worse. We had to take the light out so the engine light wouldnt be on so it could get emissions tested. Well he went to do a water pump change the other day and noticed that the crank pulley was sloppy. Well it just so happens that the woodruff key on the crank had a chunk broke off and rubbed some slop in the pulley for the magnetic pick up. So it was throwing the timing off and we never knew it. So we put a woodruff key from a crank we had in the garage in it but it still has a chunk out of the crank where it was damaged but its still good. The car runs like a dream now even with the air on.
