Anyone know the weight distribution of a 66 v8 coupe offhand?

66 coupe
full interior and glass
351w with alum heads
fiberglass hood and r model front valence w/o bumper
c4
8" rear axle
14x6 styled steel wheels with 215 rubber

weight with 5/16 of a tank: 2815

Mine weighed either 2890 or 2980 with 1/2 tank of gas, the top-loader, factory discs and headers. If you go to a salvage yard the scales should be accurate to within 1 lb. Weigh the car empty then with you in it. Then weigh the front both ways and then the rear both ways.
That is the only positive method to know the numbers on your car. If you want to get really nit-picky you can go to a race shop and have them weigh each corner.

My 65' weighs 3130lbs with a full tank of gas. I've had it weighed both at the track and at the local refuge transfer station and it weighed the same. The transfer station was certified to be with-in 25lbs.

My car does have a few mods that make it heavier though. Bondo'd on hood scoop, 351w, 9" rear, Lakewood scattershield, subframe connectors, Caltracs, GT options, pony interior, and the heavy magnum 500 wheels.

I think that's a bit too optimistic. Road tests of the day usually listed it as 56/44 for a 289 equipped car. Big block cars were around 59/41.

wrong, from car and driver's six pony car comparison from march 1968;

68 mustang with the 390 weight distribution was 57/43, however the 68 tunnel port mustang was 55/45

I stand corrected. I got my numbers from the same book ("Car and Driver On Mustang"), but looked at different tests. I actually doubt the accuracy of these numbers, as there are sometimes significant differences for very similar cars (like the last two). Note that 1% difference is about 30-35 pounds.

1964 289 Convertible: 53/47
1965 289 K code Fastback: 57/43
1965 Shelby GT350: 53/47
1966 Shelby GT350H: 52/48
1967 390 Fastback: 60.3/39.7
1967 GT500: 60/40
1968 390 Fastback: 56.8/43.2
1969 428CJ MachI: 59.3/40.7
1968 302 TP Coupe: 55.2/44.8
1969 Boss 302: 55.8/44.2
1970 Boss 302: 55.9/44.1
1971 Boss 351: 57.9/42.1
1972 351 HO Sportsroof: 56.1/43.9

was it with driver? iron heads? etc. mine was measured on a scale at the track

No driver. It's a boss block/crank, aluminum heads, 8qt oil pan, toploader, shock tower brace, monte carlo brace, 9", 4 wheel discs, 1/4 tank gas, steel wheels... I don't know if thats where the fat is or not. I might have a lot of bondo too:rlaugh:
