Anyone replace the 87-89 climate controls with one from a 90-93?

I busted up my climate control the other day when I was gutting my interior. I though instead of getting another one, maybe I could put one in from a 90-93 car. How much work does this involve? Are the mounting points and electrical/vacuum connections the same? Pics would be sweet

I've done it. All you need to do is make sure that the climite controls you get have the switches and knobs and trim piece with it. The switches from 87-89 vs. the 90-93 are in different locations, but all the vac. and electrical connections will reach the new positions and hook up correctly. -don't forget the console trim piece as the new control unit is "smaller" looking and your old trim piece will look like crapola -

Ive done it as well, everything hooks up with no issues.

The only problem i found was the 87-89 mounting points are different than the 90-93 ones, so i had to make a little bit of a plastic backing plate to screw it to. Its not a big deal though, i actually used part of the old trim peice to make it.
