Anyone use gapless rings?

Iv gotta rering my 289 .030. Im thinking about using gapless rings.Are the worth the extra money?Where can I get a set and how much do they cost?

I had my engine builder use the childs&alber zero gap in my 418. I believe you can pick them up from www.summitracing.com for around $215

I have used C&A z-gaps in my ys-trimed 331 for about 2 years and I love them. I see almost zero pressure in the crankcase even under high boost.

i read an article in one of my many subscriptions i get, were there was a dyno comparison done on gapped rings versus zero gap and if i can recollect they were good for 15+HP over conventional rings. and also the test rings used were file fit type on the gapped wich is even better quality over std. gapped.

reringing with gapless is probaly not a good idea. the difference in cylinder bore may break the gapless, i think you need a new bore for them

Well this motor I got with my stang is a 289 that was supposedley rebuilt before the car was put in storage. I got the car with the engine sitting next to it.He said that it was bored .030.Im assuming that was actually done and the builder broke a something during assembley but Ill find out for sure when I tear it done.

So are gapless rings the hot ticket now? Last time I researched them it seemed like everybody was having trouble getting them to seat properly.

My gapless rings seated fine and the car ran perfect. It was a blower car and had very little crankcase pressure, I would recommend them for a forced induction car.

they are quite nice and have proved themselves 2 me 4 over 3 seasons at the track on and off the juice and my periodical compression checks have only shown 3to5 psi drop with serious juice levels since installed.
