so here is my question, on a aod i know lots of people have said go with a 89- 92 tranny, what mods would need to be made to the tranny. btw i have a 289 4 barrel. and how much should this cost any one know of anybody in reno, nevada

I bought the conversion kit from CJ Pony Parts which included the crossmember, shifter linkage, TV cable, Carb braket,........ I also had to buy the appropriate flywheel as well as torque converter. I was lucky though, I did not have to shorten my originial C4 drive shaft during the installation (I've read where some have had to do this).
So I would check out the kits from the various vendors that include everything that you will need for the conversion (easier this way in my opinion). As far as the trans, I went with the Performance Automatic AOD and she'll chirp 2nd and 3rd, then cruise nicely in Overdrive. Best mod I've done thus far!
