Are there any white faced gauges out there that DON’T look like hell at night?

I'm kinda blah about the look of my stock gauges. Found plenty of white faced sets, but they all seem to look awful with the stock back lighting at night (light and dark spots, etc).

Anyone make a decent set? Pics would be appreciated?

Oh....and they have to make them in Metric too for us Canuks. :canada:

Something like these actually wouldn't be half bad....with the brightness cut down that is.

Warning...contains language.

Your only option are overlays...check ebay. Unfortunately 99% of them look like pure ricer crap and don't match ANYTHING at all in the car.

NR Automobile Accessories does make some good ones though.

I have the BBK faces, and they suck. Uneven at night. You can try to fix by adding bulbs/leds, but my fix was to simply not drive the car at night anymore :)

NR Auto ones look great from what I've seen. That said, I have BBKs and like 5L5 said they're uneven and are just "good enough" IMO. Not bad enough to make me take them out since I also rarely drive at night, but if I ever have the cluster off for some reason I'll definitely replace them.

Don't bother with the white gauges, the second i found a real 170 saleen cluster i took my whites out.
The white just doesn't go with the fox interior anyway, unless you have a vert with whit leather.

I kinda like the white gauges in my car. I don't think it looks out of place at all. I have some phantom autometer white gauges as well, so it all matches.

However, the lighting at night does suck. You'd think in 2011 someone would make a good white gauge kit that doesn't look like i'm driving a spaceship or the entire gauge cluster is white

Agree completely, they look out of place/tacky IMO. I'd go with black or some sort of silver faced gauge style if I were to do a real cluster upgrade like the Florida5.0 setup.

I'm just going to clean mine up and get some LED bulbs.

Does anyone know of a decent source for these? Aren't they 194s?

I did this recently, got mine from LED Lights & Accessories - SUPER BRIGHT LEDS

6 - WLED-xHP6: Wedge Base Bulb - WLED-CWHP6: Cool White
2 - WLED-xHP5: Wedge Base Bulb - WLED-GHP5: Green

I wasn't sure how the green bulbs would look for the turn signals before installing them but they ended up looking awesome. Big improvement over the stock bulbs with a nice cleaning of the cluster face and the lense.

Too directed IMHO.

It look into LEDs that offer more of a wider beam pattern.

Edit: didn't see that they are 90*. They could work then. At least it would make the gauge face setup appear more even.

Yeah that's the reason I'm debating it. I'm worried about hotspots with the 90 degree beam. you think if I put tape around the sides of the stock bulbs it would resemble a 90 degree beam? :D
