Auto guys, what tranny fluid and how many TOTAL qts. of fluid???

What kinda automatic tranny fluid is needed on a 2002 GT with an automatic? im getting it flushed so i need to know how many quarts in total, also the car has 57k is fluid change time for it???

a Mercon V approved fluid. make sure tis mercon V and more regular mercon. Mobil 1 ATF has recently been approved. i would get about 16qts for a full flush, also buy a new filter and change the filter. flushes are supposed to be done ever 30k miles according to ford.

I just changed mine yesterday. I used 11 quarts but I just drained the pan and converter....................does anyone know where to get motorcraft fluid besides the Ford dealer? Cost me $54.00 for 12 quarts. And I still got another car to do.

not sure about the Motorcraft MV fluid. im picking up like 16qts of Mobil 1 atf to do the grand marquis transmission. kinda pricey at about $7 a quart.
