Driving to my office today, my car started making a bad rattling sound....listened under the car and it sounded like the sound was coming from my cats....well...let the car cool down and if I hit the cat, you can hear something rattling inside...

So the question is...can a muffler shop replace the cats on an aftermarket unit?

If so, how much?

what do you mean aftermarket? are they high flow cats or something? if so i'd try to see if the company you bought them from warranty them because i know that factory cats are mandatory 8 year 80,000mi. warranty, and im sure the muffler shop could cut them out and order new ones from whoever makes yours, but cats are expensive

the honeycomb's spot welds come loose - not much you can do but have them cut out and new ones installed (as mentioned). good luck.
