I think the key to child safety in any vehicle, new or old, is having a good quality, well designed child safety seat that is properly adjusted and correctly installed. Car seats, especially for child booster seats with seat backs, have come a long way in safety design for side impact IMO.I get out voted by my wife, wife's family and my own family on taking the kids in my car. My oldest is two so it isn't an issue yet, but i'd be lying if I said I didn't consider a 4pt bar to shut everyone up.
I win about 99% of arguments, so this is one I let slide, for now...
Maybe it would give me a good reason to drive it more, rather than just around the block.
