best upper intake

I was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with upper intakes. I want to replace mine (stock) should i replace top and bottom? I have under drive pulleys full exhaust and 3.73 gear. I heard comp has one that gives 20 hp and reduces weight by 17 lbs. Any help would be great.

If the car is for the street you probably want to maintain your low end torque as much as you can. You will definately have to replace your lower too because that is the biggest bottleneck of the intake. You can get your stock intake ported by a member here named Tmoss as a good option or if you want to buy new, you can get a GT40/cobra/explorer(all pretty much the same) or an Edelbrock would probably be your best bet.

I am running comp upper on a 351w Lightning lower.
The comp cams upper has been discussed here recently. If you do a search you should find some info on it. There is concern as to whether or not it is worth using on a stock lower intake. A cobra lower would be better, or possibly port the stock lower.

Basically, you will loose some top end. With 3.73s you may not care though.
