Found a set of GT40s in the classifieds, they had minor porting and was told they would just bolt on and that they didn't have many miles on them.

I took them to my machine shop and found out 14 out of 16 valves leak, and 8-9 guides are wore out. THis kind of sucks as I was trying to save $$$ and now I have to pay $200 to have the heads fixed.

did you pay with paypal? you can get your money back...

did you e-mail him and ask for some back?

if you got $100 back i'd call it a decent deal still.

did you pay w/ a MO???

if you paid w/ a money order...then it is internet/ mail fraud

pretty ez to get money back.....but sometimes not worth the hassle.

what does the guy say about it now?

This wont really help you but for all people getting ready to buy gt-40's and p's...you wont save money doing it! Get the more expensive head off the bat. There are always issues with gt-40ps and used 40's and the cost added up leads to the same price as the more expensive head.

Return them and try to get your money back and get some of those cheapy edelbrock aluminum heads instead for the same money.
