Can someone point me in the general direction on how to install a metal cap over top of the frame rails on a Fox Body Mustang?

I have a 88 gt and the rails are ate up right under the towers on both sides and I want to patch them, does anybody know the type of metal to use and the thickness please help #FoxdowninIndiana

Can you post a picture of the actual damage to assess.

The above frame rails are a great investment depending on what needs to be replaced. It's a big project however as quite a bit of material needs to be removed prior to welding it all in. A good spot weld cutter is a must.

This is also a kit to consider depending on what needs to be replaced.

IIRC, the strut tower is 16ga steel, and the rail is 14ga.
