Brakes Not Working After Upgrade

I have an 81 mustang that I put slightly better brakes off an 88 gt mustang. Now it seems like it doesn't want to stop as good as it did before with the worse brakes on it. I have bleed the brakes about six times thinking there must be air in the line but I haven't had any success doing this. Do I need a different master cylinder for this swap or am I missing something else?

They both use 60mm pistons, so no need to swap MC's.

Did you install the calipers on the correct sides? If the bleeder isn't in the right spot, you'll never get all the air out.

I know the bleed screw is pointing up so I'm pretty sure that's right.

Sometimes pointing up isn't correct. All depends on where the bleeder draws from.
