C4 Transmission

Is the C4 trans from a 6 cyl the same as a C4 from a V8 and will it handle the power from a V8?

I think...........uhm if i remember the 6cy c-4 and the 2.3 c-4 share the same spline shaft just dif bellhouse's. Im not sure if it will work in a v8 without changing the spline.

I remember something about that when I put a 6cy c-4 in my turbo-pinto, I changed switched the bells, IM not sure if that trick works on the v8 tho....
