Hi guys:
I am posting this here because you have been so helpfull with information on my mustang.
Here is the situation.
2001 Ranger, 60K miles, 2.5 Liter I-4, 5 speed tranny . The idle while slowing to a stop in Neutral was hanging at about 3,000 rpm's untill I stop and then it drops to about 750 (normal). I had a full diagnostic scan done and no codes came up. I changed the IAC and voilla no more problem. Now about 1,500 miles later it is doing it again.
I replaced the part with an aftermarket IAC (Motorcraft part was about 3X the price... really) Did I make the mistake on this one? or did I get a faulty part?
Another thought I had... is it possible that the Pcv valve is causing too much blow by and clogging the IAC valve???
Let me know what you think and I will report what happens.
Thanks,
Matt
