Can leather seats be reconditioned?

I was just wondering - you know how, eventually the shiny surface wears away on your leather seats and it looks all dull and grey...? Are there places that you can take your seats to that can restore their original shine and luster? Can you do it yourself? How/where? Please help.

Thanks,
Michael

I actually work at a leather store, and we offer a leather lotion (conditioner) that remoisturizes the leather so it brings back its natural finish. If you have a wilsons leather in your area, stop in there and ask them for the leather lotion. Yes, you can use it on your leather seats and it is safe.

Yeah I think I used Tanners cleaner and conditioner on the white leather in my 30th Anniv Z28... So this lotion you are talking about will actually return that dull grey to the shiney black again? I don't know how they get the leather polished up like it is when new, but I was thinking that the seat would have to go through the same process to bring back that polished/shiny black surface...?

Yikes...well here's the deal. I've got near mint condition cloth seats in my 96 GT. There is a guy that wants to trade me even for his black leather 95 GT seats. Here are the pics he sent me:

I was just wondering if I should make the trade or not. I'll be buying new suede Corbeaus in a few weeks, and I thought I might be able to sell the leathers for more than the cloth. (Providing the leather seats are nice enough)

What do you guys think? Based on those pics, should I make the trade or hold on to my seats? Here's a shot of my rear cushion: http://www.geocities.com/lt130th/DSC02395.JPG

As much as I love my leather seats, I would just keep the ones you have & get some new leather seats down the road. Those remind me of the interior in my old 97 Cobra. Although those are good for how old they are, your cloth looks newer. i will admit that the flash from the camera always make them look worse.
