i have an 87 GT manual trans.

driveshaft bolts wont come loose even with heat

will the yoke eventually slip out as i pull the motor and trans as 1 unit?

i dont need to keep the drive shaft, so im not worried about ruining the stock shaft.

im pulling to swap into other ride. just need to keep project moving forward.

thanks

If you dont need to save the driveshaft, cut it as close to the trans as possible. Use a sawzall with a fresh metal blade. The shaft is a hollow tube of not too thick metal. A sawzall can make quick work of it.

But if you're careful, it should slide out as you pull the engine/trans forward

Heat the bolt up well, and then when it's nice and toasty, splash it with water.

Then put the 12-point on it, and give the other end some quick blows with another heavy wrench or something with weight to "impact" it off.

Then promptly throw those 4 bolts in the trash and buy 4 new ones.

Spray it down with PB Blaster and let it soak over night.

I usually use a really high quality box end wrench, and put my foot on it to loosen the bolts. You can apply a lot more push with your legs than you can with your arms. You will need to set the emergency brake in order to keep the driveshaft from turning.

I've used a good wrench and then put a rolling pump jack under it and pumped it up.
If the weight of the car doesn't crack them loose, nothing will.
