I just did an engine swap & I can't get my automatic transmission to line up & slip in. I've got most of the trans/block bolts 1/2 way in, the torque converter studs look like they're lined up to go into the flywheel, but I still can't shove the trans. in the last 1/2 inch. I don't think I'm on the block dowel pins yet either.

Automatic experts, please help me. What am I doing wrong? Are there any tricks to slipping the trans. in?

I bet you don't have the torque converter fully enaged onto the transmission. I just had that problem with a 92 Grand Marquis. I dropped it out, wiggled and pushed on the TC a little, and POP, it slid in a little further. After that, the only other problem I had was a wiring harness above the trans fell between the trans and engine, which I just held out of the way. Good luck!
*Also, make sure the alignment pins are lined up right. It took alot of wiggling to get them to finally slide in.
