OK, took my 06 Roush to the track for the first time yesterday. Only change to the car was JLT cold air kit. The track, Speedworld here in Phoenix, had just redone the concrete out 400 feet and the track was slick according to folks who race the on a regular basis. So I'm sure that was part of the problem.
I tried launching several ways, riding the clutch out and then steppng on it. Best 60' was a 2.21. Soon as I banged 2nd, I would be sideways and spinning again. If I would ease up on the shift to 2nd it wouldn't get sideways but I could still spin the tires. Anyway, I was disappointed that the best run was a 14.21 at 100 mph.
Any suggestions? I know some sticky tires would help as well as better track conditions. I let the tires down to 30 pounds and that seem to make it worse!
