bought a set of Frpp wheels for the rear. Had nitto DRs mounted
on them. I bought a set of the hex nut valve stems with the wheels.
They were installed in February. No problems until today, went out to
the car and the left rear tire was almost flat. I was able to make it to a tire place about 1/2 mile away. the guy checked the tire and no leaks.
He and I saw that the hex chrome valve stem had play in it. He put
air in the tire and we could hear the leak from the valve stem. He tightened
the hex nut on the stem and it stopped. He thought that I should go back to
the place that installed the tires and get checked. So far no leak has returned. Do hex nut vlave stems work themselves loose from driving/
launches etc. I'm wondering if this is an isolated incident?
Anyone ever encounter the hex nut coming loose on a custom
valve before???
