OK, so I run an iPhone charger plugged into my Cigarette Lighter all the time, and I unplug it when I park the car so the pilot light doesn’t drain the battery. A couple weeks ago, I plug the charger in and I immediately blow the 14A fuse. I disconnected the Cigarette Lighter unit and removed it from the dash. I’m still blowing fuses. The emergency flashers no longer work; I replaced the flasher unit and still no action. Anybody give me a clue as to where I should be looking for this short under the dash?
Thanks! Cliff

OK, so unplugged emergency flasher and reconnected Cig Lighter. No blown fuse! So, the Emergency Flasher was a dealer installed option and I don’t see a schematic anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find a circuitry map so I can trace this short?

Ive had cars that do that, my truck did it recently. Sometimes the adapter surges and pulls too much power through the circuit when plugging and removing. Any corroded wires will cause high resistance, maybe up the fuse to a 20 or rewire
