my 66 has only seen 1/8th mile, its done a best of 8.66@83 with a 3speed manual and the stock 2.79 gears out back with street tires (245-60-14), spinning em and all. I guess its not too bad for a budget motor. Post your 1/8th time would ya? Just to see how i would stand.

That is very impressive. You must realy have that thing dialed in properly. That is unbalievable you are getting that with a 3sp, stock gears, and a performer intake. Tell us how you have your suspension set up. what is your 60'.

My 1/8 is 8.847 at 83.95 mph. My 1/4 is 13.4 at 105.65

11.63 @ 117

331 in a 66 coupe. 1.79 60'

Best Slip:

1.92 60ft (corded drag radials 235/60/15s)
8.277 @ 87 mph 1/8th mile
12.84 @ 107 mph 1/4 mile

i've never had a real tire under it... i know she'd go mid-low 12s with slicks, but haven't had the money to do it. oh yeah, race weight is 3450 lbs.

hey 12sec67. I found the best calculaters on the net and with you ET specs you have 354HP.. based on a 3500lb car.... scroll down for all the calculaters at,

cool- yea i've noticed that those don't really work on et vs weight.
i had my car dyno's with the wrong heat range plugs and a lot less bolts ons when i was running 13.2-13.4 and i had 292 rwhp and 298rft and my tach was 1300 rpms off when reving.i need to get off my butt and get it dyno'd again and get my car weighed :bang:

thanks for all the replys

looks like most classics are really fast or fast or restored :hail2:

the calculators worked pretty well for me. but i also pulled directly off the track and onto the scales.

they worked out to like 330 whp, and my car did 325 uncorrected (332 corrected) on the rollers...

thanks,

my suspension is basically stock, the leafs are worn out stock ones, with lakewood slapper bars ($40), and some spring shackles out back, the shocks are street kyb gas charged ones, (the white ones). The front coils are stock that have been heated to lower the car with cheap autozone shocks that are leaking, personally since the shocks are dead it lets the car lift and i think that helps.

Im on such a tight budget its been hard to get all the good suspension, tranny, and rear end parts i want/need, but its all starting to come together.

Cant wait till i get a t5 in there with some 4.11's, i may have to pospone it to build another 302 though, the engine had VERY bad blow by right now, its kinda sad :( :D

the car did weight in at 2680 without me and no back seat. I weight about 150 and the back seat probably another 30-40, i think it helps out a bit that the car is that light.
