Clutch Cable/fork Problems

Hey guys.
I've got my 1996 mustang gt and here recently I've done a clutch replacement and all that good stuff. TOB, etc. But ever since ive done the replacement, the clutch pedal has a very steep engagement point. like it's stiff to press to the bite point then it goes straight down smooth as butter. it's hard to take off smoothly. it's not a smooth motion what so ever. and sometimes during acceleration/deceleration in first gear itll jerk back and forth violently. I've recently replaced the cable with the OEM one, and it's on there really tight, and the same pathing. occasionally, after driving a little and parking, I'll come back to my car to leave and I'll press in the pedal and it's not even hitting the bite point. almost like the cable is broken. but the remedy is to release the cable off the fork, play with it for a second, and put it back on and it's back to its normal behavior. it's the strangest thing.
if anyone has any clues im happy to listen.

thanks
