My mom's opener has been busted for a while and its time to get her a new one. But i got a couple questions.....
1.) I see that they have 3 different types....screw, belt, and chain. She has a chain setup now...does that mean i have to stay with a chain? I guess i dont have to but it wouldnt be as easy on the install would it? Are the belt or screw types any easier to install?
2.) I see some 1/2 horsepower and 3/4hp models. She has a wood garage door that has some weight to it. Im thinking i will get the most powerful just because, but i was wondering if there was some sort of guideline for the hp levels in terms of what they can handle. Oh yea its a 2 car garage.
3.) Last but not least, how is the install or replacement of one of these things. This will be my first time because i REFUSE to pay someone $250-$300 to install this thing. I figured i have taught myself to do everything else, i can do this. If not, i will have my uncle come over and help. Have any of you done this before?
