Compressor Connector

Going to begin installing my AC tomorrow or Wednesday, and was going through the engine bay and noticed I am missing the electrical connector for the compressor. The old compressor is still in the car, but I don't see any connectors in the area. Does anyone know what wires the connector should attach to, or if I get another connector, where to wire it to? Thanks

The A/C clutch wiring has a diode in it to reduce the voltage kickback then the clutch coil switches off. That creates an inductive voltage spike large enough to do damage to the rest of the electronics in the car. The diode is encased in a semi rectangular shaped plastic block and connects between the power and ground leads for the A/C clutch. It is on a pigtail that plugs into the main harness. See #37 on the drawing below.

I just cut the connector off of my '92 because my new compressor doesn't use that kind of connection. There's only about 1/4 inch of wiring sticking out of the connector but if you want it I could mail it to you. There are just 2 wires in it. A solid black and a black with yellow stripe.

Thanks, that would be great. I'll PM you.

I cannot find the wires to put the connector on. Based on what jrichter said, is this the diode? It has a black wire going in and a black and yellow wire coming out.

If so, the only two wires I can find are these that are cut. They come from the area where my fingers are. They look black and black with a faded stripe, but I cannot be sure. The wiring on my car is a mess, I am going to have to redo it one day.

You can see the two cut wires going off the left of the photo. Thanks for any help!

It is pouring rain and dark outside now, but in case no one else responds I'll trace it tomorrow in the sunlight. BTW, I put the connector in the mail you should have it in a few days. I just found this on Latemodelresto.com Look up pn LRS-8793SCH. This is the connector and wiring that you need.
