My head is spinning here. What years/models used the 6bolt crank and what used the 8bolt? What years/models used the large pattern converter, what ones used the small.
Thanks guys and sorry if this is the wrong forum, this is my first post. :nice:

ther are no set patterns with ford. there never has been. forged cranks have 8 bolts. pi patter is smaller, however truck pi is bigger pattern. i recently had to drill my truck 8 bolt from a 2004 4.6 for my 5.4 3v. i have a pi converter on my 96. you can research this to kingdom come and find exceptions to all rules.

1999 & 2000 Mustangs wth the Windsor engine have 8 bolt flywheels and have a 10.5" convertor bolt pattern, part # XR3Z-6375-EA

1996 Crown Vics wth a 4.6 Windsor have a 8 bolt flywheel and a 11.5" convertor bolt pattern, part # F6AZ-6375-DA, this flywheel was also used on some trucks.
