Convertible Boot Color: 86 Black Mustang Gt

Hi everyone, I have a question that I think I know the answer to but want to confirm. I just had my convertible top replaced on an 86 Mustang GT. The car is black with black top and gray interior. I want to buy a boot to install. I believe that needs to be black as well, but I have also seen a dark gray. To be "correct" on my car, shouldn't it be black? I just want to make sure as I haven't seen too many of these on the road to compare.

Both my mustangs had a boot to match the seat color.

my boot is red, but so are the seats and body, grey would look good if its same/similar to interior IMO
