Brand new convertible motor on my 93 5.0 vert is completely silent. When I first installed it and put ATF fluid in motor it worked for 30 seconds. I could hear the air bleeding out of the system. Then it just stopped working -- no groaning, just silent. I have followed the wiring diagrams and ruled out a problem upstream. I get 12V at relays and I get clicks at the relays when I turn the switch. I have hot-wired the motor from the battery right to the yellow and the red wires leading into the motor -- I get 12V at the motor but no motor action. I've check the ground for the motor and it is good. Before I return this new motor for another I want to make sure I am not missing something.

It does sound like the motor, if you get voltage to it and it doesn't move. You can always hook wires from the battery directly to the motor completely bypassing the rest of the circuits and confirm that the motor doesn't work. That's what I did when my motor died to isolate the problem.

Good luck..
