Cube under dash

I found a cube under the steering wheel,close to the fuse box on 87 Foxbody, had plug with 7 wires attached,motorcraft # faded out,7C9B under pt #,had 7 wires in plug,2 red w yellow stripe,in same lug, 2 blue,under same lug,2 white w pink stripe,under same lug,and 1 black under a lug by itself,anyone know whatthis does?

On 87 mustang,What is the elec.device located between gear-shift lever and dashboard,mounted on top of the tunnel. It is sort-of hex-shaped,got 2 small wiring harness conn.,weighs about 1 pound,with some cooling fins visable.It measures about 4 1/2" x 6",would anybody know? thanks

Could that be the radio amp. Thats what it sounds like if its on the tunnel. Its bolted with twp bplts

Thanks,is it hex shaped,about 1 1/2" thick,weigh about 1 lb.,with 2 elec.connectors? It does bolt to the top of the tunnel,about 12" in front of the gearshift.

It wont work with the aftermarket. But you can bypass it the front wires should connect to the back. Right, its been a while
