We don't have an inspection here in southwest Ohio either.....but we used too.
It was a joke anyways. A couple of years ago I took my 97 F150 that had massive exhaust leak at the manifold where the cats attached, loud as all get out and it still passed.
Don't have to deal with that anymore but still afraid to go O/R midpipe in case they bring it back and worried the cops will ticket me for noise.
Inspectors in TX are NOT obligated to look under the car for cats on OBD-II vehicles. If the Check Engine light it not light, then your exhaust is good. You can move to TX or you can buy NIB catted legs for a 3-piece Mac Prochamber/H.
I hope they do that in FL with just checking the CEL, they are thinking about bringing back emissions, I hope they are not strict, if that happens I will be downgrading to an OBD1 vehicle,
got it switched and took it for a spin. theres a leak where one of the manifolds meet the mid. Im gonna let it cool and jack it up in a few. Damn, thought I was finished. BTW I think it sounds quiet now. =(
The smog shop I went to passed me, and I have a catted X pipe. In CA, anything other than the stock midpipe is illegal, and shouldn't pass visual inspection. I guess I got really lucky
We'll see what happens in 2 years when I go back for smog and they see the blower and custom FMIC
Just took off the mac catted H and re-put the o/r h. I was actually becoming depressed while driving the car with the cats. I mean it wasnt even the same mustang anymore. It felt like driving a stock v6 =[.
now it sounds kick ass again and im happy.
hook up computer test took 20 seconds.. and swapping the pipe out took 2 hours lol. WAste of time, but its worth it just in case.
Dont knock down Non-PI's , our years had the most emissions b.s thrown on the car so thats why it feels like a slug the way it does, take off 6 catted pipe and restrictive muffers, you have a decent mustang.
